Biography

Connie Chan-Kang is a research associate for the Institute of International Science and Technology Practice and Policy Center (InSTePP) in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. Since joining InSTePP in June 2004, Connie has contributed to various research projects on agricultural productivity measurement and analysis, and on the economic evaluation of agricultural R&D. Connie is also responsible for the development and maintenance of several large databases, including: long-run series of global crop production, area and yield; historical series on US agricultural production and prices by commodity; global public agricultural R&D investments; and historical series on US public agricultural R&D expenditures. Connie received an M.Sc. degree in agricultural economics from Oregon State University in 1997. Prior to joining InSTePP, Connie worked as a research analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington D.C.
