Biography

Frikkie Liebenberg joined the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development at the University of Pretoria in 2010 as a research economist. From 1997 to 2010 he worked for the South African Agricultural Research Council on issues related to agricultural research policy, project monitoring and evaluation, and research management issues. He continues those research interests at the University of Pretoria while also completing the first phase of a long-standing effort to rebuild and reassess the empirical evidence regarding agricultural input, output and productivity growth in South African agriculture. Frikkie coauthored the 2003 ISNAR volume Project Planning Monitoring and Evaluation of Investments in Agricultural Research: Training Manual and coedited the 2007 CABI volume Impact of Science on African Agriculture: Lessons and Experience from Eastern and Southern Africa.
