Biography

Steve Miller is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. His primary research interests concern natural resource and environmental economics, with a growing focus on how environmental policies shape R&D and adoption of new technologies in the energy sector. Methodologically, he is interested in the application of machine learning and other tools from computer science to large, messy data, and in particular how such tools might help us better understand the research process.
