There are renewed concerns about the ability of the world to sustainably feed itself in the decades ahead.  Understanding the United States and rest-of-world prospects for and forces shaping the growth in global agricultural production and productivity is key to making informed judgments on this issue. InSTePP research focusses on the long-run dimensions of this problem, with an emphasis on the role of research and innovation and its relation to the long-run growth of agricultural productivity.
