Abstract

This is the second in the sequence of the 1990/1991 National Census of Agriculture and Livestock Report for Uganda after Volume "Methodology of the Census". This report gives data on demographic and holding characteristics which are structural in nature, i.e. they change slowly over a long period of time.

The data presented in this report is for 26 districts in which census field activities were successfully conducted. Gulu, Kitgum, Kotido, Kumi, Moroto and Soroti districts representing about 11 per cent of the country's rural population were excluded due to the then prevailing security situation. On the other hand Kampala district was excluded. from the census coverage, due to its predominantly urban nature.
